What is a HUD Home?

HUD (U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development)

If a home is returned to HUD and the home loan was insured by FHA, it is referred to as a HUD Home.

When the home becomes part of the HUD home inventory, the HUD agency has specific licensed real estate agencies that represent their interest in selling the home to the public.
