The University of Arizona is one of the state’s oldest institutions that is known not only for its excellence in academics, research and athletics, but also for its wide variety of interesting sights and activities. Touring the University of Arizona campus is a great thing to do in Tucson.
A good place to begin your tour is with McKale Memorial Center, the UofA’s basketball and volleyball arena. Surrounding the inside of the arena are retired jerseys of past players and many banners from the Wildcats’ past victories including the 1997 NCAA National Championship for Men’s Basketball.

If
you or a loved one are sports fans, the University of Arizona campus is
filled with great facilities to explore, such as Arizona Stadium,
Hillenbrand Memorial Stadium and Aquatic Center, and Bear Down Gym.
For
those looking for a more academic tour, the University of Arizona
campus includes the Steward Observatory Mirror Lab, which produces
mirrors for the world’s largest telescopes. You can also go to the
Arizona State Museum to learn about Arizona’s rich cultural history and
see many Native American artifacts. We recommend visiting the Center
for Creative Photography, which houses one of the most comprehensive
Ansel Adams collection, and was also founded by Adams himself!

 After
walking around campus, be sure to head to the Student Union Memorial
Center for a great selection of restaurants and coffee shops, from Core
Salad Bar to Sabor Mexican Fare. Don’t forget to check out the
University of Arizona Bookstore for some UofA apparel, souvenirs, and
even a Clinique cosmetics counter! If you still have energy after your
tour, head west to Main Gate Square for some more fun!
